FICCI, AP Chambers, AIOE organise meet on labour codes & draft rules

Vijayawada: FICCI, in association with Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation (AP Chambers) and All-India Organisation of Employers (AIOE) organised a regional consultation on labour codes and draft rules here on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment Ajoy Sharma, Joint Secretaries Dr Mahendra Kumar and Ashutosh AT Pednekar spoke on various aspects of labour reforms.
Among others, MV Seshagiri Babu, Secretary, Labour, Factories, Boilers & IMS Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Gandam Chandrudu, Additional Secretary to Government,
Labour, Factories, Boilers & Insurance Medical Services, along with senior officials from the State Labour Departments of AP, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, participated in the consultation.
Officials from the Ministry of Labour and Employment made detailed presentations on the key provisions, objectives and implementation framework of the four Labour Codes, followed by an extensive interactive session with industry representatives from across the Southern States.
AP Chambers president Potluri Bhaskara Rao in the welcome address stated that “from an employer’s perspective, the four labour codes represent a landmark reform aimed at simplifying and rationalising compliance while ensuring protection of workers’ rights.
